How do I install the Boot Studs?
Best Grip Boot Studs require the correct driver bit for easy installation.
The driver bit can be used with the manual driver handle, or with a variable-speed drill.
Purchase a full set of boot studs, which includes the driver bit and manual installation tool together as a kit.
See the installation steps in the next section below.
How long do the Boot Studs last for?
The lifespan of Best Grip boot studs can vary depending on several factors, including the frequency of use, the weight of the user, and the type of terrain.
They have a tungsten carbide core and are designed to be durable and long-lasting, providing reliable traction for a significant amount of time.
On average, users can expect Best Grip Boot Studs to last two seasons of regular use, much longer for occasional use.
However, it is not uncommon for these boot studs to outlast the footwear, making them a long-term investment.
What type of soles can the Boot Studs be used on?
Best Grip Boot Stud models 1000, 1100, 3000A, and 3000B are recommended for use on hard rubber soles.
When deciding on the Grip Stud for your footwear, check the size and prominence of the stud.
Installation Instructions
-
Footwear Preparation
Clean the soles of your boots to ensure a secure attachment. Use a pen to mark stud insertion pattern on footwear soles.
-
Prepare Install Tool
Attach the install tool to a variable-speed power drill or a manual driver handle (do not use an impact driver and do not run drill faster than 100 RPM).
-
Attach Stud
Snap a stud into the tip of the install tool with the auger end facing outward.
-
Screw in Stud
Firmly press the auger end of the stud against the sole of the boot or shoe. Apply firm, straight-down pressure while slowly screwing the stud into the sole (less than 100 RPM).
-
Check Position
Ensure the notched collar on the stud is flush with the sole. Do not over-rotate or the stud may sink too deep into the sole.
-
Repeat Process
Repeat the process for the remaining studs. We'd recommend 10-14 studs for each boot.
