Instantly effective. Gives confidence on steep descent , loose terrain, tussock tops and river boulders. Easy to screw into the boot. I tested them on my old Lowa Tibets and they grip better than a new pair. I'll be recommending these studs to all my hunting mates.
Worked very well. Doing it again would probably only get the bit and use the a power tool. Hand fitting was maybe more accurate?
Put eight studs in each boot of an old pair of Lowa Tibets, not best bush boots as they tend to slip and slide but comfortable. Four studs front, four on heel and two in instep. Tread was worn so put them mainly between treads. Spent a day in the wet bush with slippery roots, rotten leaves steep tracks very slick. Didn't lose my footing once, still had to be sensible but big improvment in grip. Could feel them biting into roots. When I got home put in two more studs per boot, one in middle of foot and one in middle of heel. Reckon that will be as close as possible to ideal.
Installed in lightweight shoes for hunting. Look like doing the job perfectly
Easy to install with the dedicated tool, & they make a massive difference in the river. I fit these to my Orvis Pro wading boots (1 stud in each of the 12 circular holes built into the tread pattern of each boot) & they are just the right length.

Just had 3 days hunting in steep country using my regular boots, but first time out with the boot studs added, I can’t believe the difference, so much more grip on all types of surfaces, rocks, scree, wet grass and tussock, highly recommend these for any tramper or hunter
